Japanese art has a way of capturing not only the beauty of a scene or a person but also the quiet emotions behind them. Two of my newest artworks — a serene view of Mt. Fuji beneath the rising sun and a portrait of a graceful geisha — celebrate that timeless balance between nature, culture, and elegance.
Mt. Fuji: A Timeless Muse in Ukiyo-e Style
Mt. Fuji has inspired countless artists across centuries, from Hokusai’s Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji to Hiroshige’s poetic landscapes. In this artwork, I wanted to honor that tradition while keeping the composition calm and meditative.
The snow-capped peak rises against a soft gradient sky, with the red sun balanced like a seal in the heavens. Cherry blossoms frame the scene, suggesting renewal, while the water reflects a quiet stillness. It’s not just a landscape — it’s a meditation on nature’s harmony.
Grace and Elegance: The Geisha Portrait

The geisha has long been a symbol of refinement, grace, and cultural artistry in Japan. In this portrait, I worked with the classic bijin-ga (pictures of beautiful women) style but softened it with modern lines and a bold, minimal color palette.
Her calm expression, vivid kimono, and delicate hair adornments are meant to reflect both strength and beauty. She is not a fleeting figure from the past but a reminder of timeless elegance.
Why These Works Belong Together
Both artworks speak to the enduring spirit of Japanese art. Mt. Fuji represents the natural world in all its permanence and majesty, while the geisha reflects human artistry and cultural refinement. Placed together, they create a dialogue between nature and humanity — two forces that have always shaped Japanese aesthetics.
